Salt Water Disposal
Saltwater disposal (SWD) is a process of injecting produced saltwater into underground formations to safely and effectively dispose of it. It is commonly used in the oil and gas industry to dispose of the large volumes of saltwater that are produced during oil and gas production. The saltwater is typically separated from the oil and gas at the surface and then transported to the SWD facility via pipeline or truck. The SWD facility injects the saltwater into designated underground formations through a wellbore, where it is permanently stored and isolated from other formations to prevent contamination of freshwater aquifers or other underground resources
