Pole Tapes & Gauging Tapes
Pole tapes and gauging tapes are measuring tapes that are commonly used in the forestry industry to determine the height and diameter of trees. Pole tapes are typically used to measure the height of trees, while gauging tapes are used to measure the diameter of the trunk. Both types of tapes are made of durable materials such as fiberglass or steel and are marked with measurements in feet, inches, and/or centimeters. Some gauging tapes may also have bark scales to aid in measuring the diameter accurately. These tapes usually come in different lengths, with longer tapes being suitable for measuring taller trees. Pole tapes and gauging tapes are important tools for accurately assessing the growth and health of forested areas, and are essential for making informed decisions about timber harvesting and management.
